The photographic image on this postcard features a three-story mill towering at right over a spillway and men handling floating logs. Verso is printed with the title "Grist-mill at Barrow Bay. The log sluice and water wheel show in the centre foreground. The mill burned in 1946 after being renovated as an artist's studio. Collection Mr. R.N. Greig. This postcard was part of the collection of Bruce Arthur Krug. Following his death on May 21, 2013, his Estate sold his postcards at a series of sales in 2013. The Bruce County Historical Society purchased over 1,500 postcards at the auction, including this card, for donation to the Bruce County Museum & Cultural Centre. |
