Description |
A group photograph featuring five rows of men in military uniform standing in front of a wooden building, likely at Witley Camp, England, ca. Sept. - Nov. 1917. These men were members of No. 13 Platoon, D Company, 160th Battalion C.E.F. consisting of Kincardine, Lucknow, Ripley, Tiverton and area men. The man at each end of the 2nd row is holding a snare drum. The words "West & Son, Goldaming" are hand printed in white in lower right corner of photograph. The mat board onto which the photograph is pasted bears the studio name "Evans London Studio" parially covered by black paint. The identity of the men were identified on two separate typewritten sheets, which accompanied the photograph, as well as photograph A2022.014.007. Back Row (left to right) 1 Pte.
