Description |
This real photo postcard, entitled "St. Paul's Church Rectory Southampton" in white hand-print on the bottom of the card, features a view, across High Street, of St. Paul's Anglican Church, at 248 High Street, Southampton, Ontario, and the house used as the rectory across Victoria Street at 254 High Street. On the reverse in upper right corner, in black typeset, "Place one-cent stamp here" is surrounded by letters AZO on each side forming a square, with circles in each corner of the square. The view is facing northwest from the other side of High Street. High Street is a dirt road bordered by a wooden fence. Power lines are visible along the street. This item is part of the Krug family fonds, series 4, file 2 (Historical records and research - Bruce County postcards). |

This postcard was part of the collection of Bruce Arthur Krug. Following his death on May 21, 2013, his Estate sold his postcards at a series of sales in 2013. The Bruce County Historical Society purchased over 1,500 postcards at the auction, including this card, for donation to the Bruce County Museum & Cultural Centre. |
