Description |
This postcard features a photographic image of a memorial. The card bears the title in black typeset: "Secord Memorial, Kincardine, Ont." The memorial is dedicated to Dr. Solomon Secord who lived form 1834 to 1910, and who served as a "surgeon with Southern Army during American Civil War." On the reverse, is a postmark of Kincardine Ont. FE 24 1927. A handwritten message is addressed to Miss Ida Lurvern, 308 Ferguson Ave., Niagara Falls, Ont., Canada, from Harold. This item is part of the Krug family fonds, series 4, file 2 (Historical records and research - Bruce County postcards). |

This postcard was part of the collection of Bruce Arthur Krug. Following his death on May 21, 2013, his Estate sold his postcards at a series of sales in 2013. The Bruce County Historical Society purchased over 1,500 postcards at the auction, including this card, for donation to the Bruce County Museum & Cultural Centre. |
