Negative photographs featuring the MacKenzie log house being transported through downtown Port Elgin to the Bruce County Museum, May 15, 1958. A2013.012.04394: Image featuring the log house (on a slant) on a truck in downtown Port Elgin. The Arlington Hotel can be seen behind the log house and a few people can be seen on the sidewalk watching the event. A2013.012.04395: Image featuring the MacKenzie log house sitting level on a truckbed (not entirely visible in the image), downtown Port Elgin. A few people are watching on the street. A2013.012.04396: Image featuring the log house positioned on two truck beds, side by side. The camera captured the front of the trucks with the log house positioned behind. Two automobiles are parked on the street in the foreground. Drug store signs can be seen to both the left and right of the house being transported downtown Port Elgin. A2013.012.04397: Image featuring the MacKenzie log house propped up from the street in downtown Port Elgin on logs. Two men are in the foreground - one is sitting on a log that the house is propped up on, and the other man is standing with his foot on the same log. The seated man is looking at the camera. Automobiles and people can be seen on the street around them. A2013.012.04398: Image featuring the log house on a truck bed in downtown Port Elgin. Several people, many on bicycles can be seen in the foreground near the log house. An automobile is moving between the log house and the spectators. McKeown's Food Market can be seen in the background. At the end of the street a sign is visible for Queen's Hotel. |

These negatives were part of a collection of over 20,000 images captured by teacher and photographer J. Lindsay Thornburn from 1950-1983. They were originally housed in an envelope with handwritten title "Old House (MacKenzie House) en route to the museum" which was in a container bearing a date of 1957-1961. |
