Description |
The image on this postcard features an image of a couple of fishermen holding a large Sturgeon. The card bears the title in black ink: "STURGEON CAUGHT NEAR CARGILL, ONTARIO WEIGHT 108 LBS. LENGTH 6 FT. 2 IN." On the reverse is a handwritten message addressed to Mr. & Mrs. Ken McLeod, Parkhill, R.R. Ont. and signed Much Christian Love, Stanley & Abbie. The postmark is illegible and has a 3 cents stamp with King George's image on it. This item is part of the Krug family fonds, series 4, file 2 (Historical records and research - Bruce County postcards). |

This postcard was part of the collection of Bruce Arthur Krug. Following his death on May 21, 2013, his Estate sold his postcards at a series of sales in 2013. The Bruce County Historical Society purchased over 1,500 postcards at the auction, including this card, for donation to the Bruce County Museum & Cultural Centre. |
