This photograph features "The Saugeen Indian Treaty 1854" provincial historical plaque, taken on the occasion of the plaque's unveiling on July 29, 1961 on Saugeen First Nation. On the left side are standing, L-R: Douglas Kreutzweiser, Warden of Bruce County; Stuart Robertson, President of Bruce County Historical Society; Rev. J. McLenahan, Missionary to Saugeen First Nations, and Chief Orvill Johnston of Chippewas of Nawash Unceded First Nation. On the right side are standing, L-R: Chief Alfred Thompson of Saugeen First Nation; Leslie R. Gray of the Archaelogical and Historic Siges Board; Ross Whicher, MPP (Bruce);, Dr. J.F. Morton of the Bruce Cuonty Historical Society; and Andrew Robinson, MP (Bruce). A piece of paper is pasted to the reverse upon which is typewritten the names identified above. |
