Four negatives featuring images related to the Bruce County Public Library Bookmobile, likely taken in September 1953, accompanied by an envelope bearing handwritten "Bruce Co. Library." (Reference: See Port Elgin Times January 25th 1956) A2013.012.02249: Bookmobile van bearing lettering on its side "Bruce County Library" parked in front of the Port Elgin Public Library. 708 Goderich St., Port Elgin. In front of the van, on the lawn, is a 1914-1918 memorial marker. A2013.012.02250: "Bruce County Library" bookmobile van, with a man seated in the driver's seat. A2013.012.02251: A group of eight individuals, (probably the Bruce County Library Board circa 1965) in a row along the side of the "Bruce County Library" Bookmobile van. The woman third from left is "Nell" (Barbara Ellen) Gowanlock (Port Elgin Librarian). The lady third from right is Winnifred Robertson, Bruce County librarian. The other individuals are not identified. A2013.012.02252: A group of eight officials and people beside the "Bruce County Library" Bookmobile van. Two of the men are standing in the van's open sliding doorway; one of the women is seated on the step at their feet. The woman standing is "Nell" (Barbara Ellen) Gowenlock, Port Elgin Librarian, the woman seated is Winnifred Robertson, Bruce County Librarian. |
