Description |
A pair of paper-maché carollers. The figurines are a male (part a) and a female (part b) who are dressed in Victorian clothing and appear to be singing. The male has a black top hat and black hair. He has brown eyebrows and eyes and his mouth is open. He is wearing a red jacket that has black buttons. He has a white scarf and gloves and has white pants with black shoes. There is silver glitter on the white areas. The male is playing an accordion. The female is wearing a red bonnet with white trim. She has blond hair with brown eyebrows and brown eyes and her mouth is open. She is wearing a red dress with white trim and has a large red bow at the neck. The dress is trimmed in white and has white gloves with silver glitter on all white areas. She is holding her hands in the centre near the waist area. The figure is mounted on a white wooden half moon shaped base and is nailed to the base by three nails. |
Provenance |
The decorations were used in Lampman's store on Queen Street in Kincardine, Ontario. The store was originally at 767 Queen Street and moved to 789 Queen Street in 1946 and operated there until 1984. Lampman's opened its original location in 1920. |
