Description |
A set of 11 red and purple satin collars from the Canadian Order of Foresters. Each collar has a satin red outer layer with a yellow embroidered symbol located near the right lower shoulder area. The ends of the collar have white, red and green tassels. The inside of the collar is lined in a purple satin. To keep the collar closed, each collar has a gold pin with "Canadian Foresters" enscribed on it. Each collar has a different symbol which is represents. The collars would have been worn by the council member and their position. The following is a list of the symbols and meanings: -(a) 2 gavels crossed with eye at top (Past Chief Ranger - authority figure) -(b) 2 gavels crossed (Chief Ranger) -(c) 1 gavel (Sub-Chief Ranger) -(d) 2 wands with two hooks (Senior Warden) -(e) 1 wand with hook (Junior Warden) -(f) 2 keys crossed (Treasurer) -(g)1 key (assistant to treasurer) -(h) 2 wands crossed in 'X' shape (Director of Ceremonies) -(i) Holy Bible with Eye (eye could be 'Eye of Providence' - for the Chaplian/Beadle) -(j) Two leaves crossed (recorder/secretary) -(k) One leaf and key crossed (financial secretary) |
