A brown leather case (b) with strap on sides (c) that holds the black binoculars (a). The binoculars are black with a raised texture on the barrels. The body has shiny black metal on the outside lens area and body hinge in the centre. There is writing stamped into the base where the eyepieces are secured. The left side reads "Military Stereo 6x30". The right side reads "Bausch & Lomb Optical Co. Rochester NY USA". The binoculars have a brown leather strap that is looped through the underside of the barrel. The leather straps are secured by a single black button through a hole. The case is the same brown colour and has a hard exterior. It is oval shaped and has a top lid. The lid is secured by a single front strap that has an elastic at the top. There is a keyhole in the centre of the strap that sits inside a brass coloured knob button in the centre of the case. There is writing under the lid that reads "Lieut. W.C. Ostic 4th Bn. C.E.F". Inside the case there are two raised sections that support the binoculars. On the inside of the lid there is a logo stamp for the Bausch & Lomb Optical Company. There are four black rivets at the back of the lid. The strap is long and narrow and is woven through two side loops on each side of the case. The strap has a single tooth buckle to adjust the size. |
