Description |
A wood branding iron used by the Krug Bros. Furniture Co. The iron is a narrow spade shape with a handle that has a wooden top in a black finish. The top of the iron has a triangle shape logo with the manufacturer's information - it reads "American Beauty Iron". The bottom of the iron has a stamp that reads "Krug Saugeen Maple". The stamp has been soldered on the bottom. The handle is also attached to the top of the iron with nuts and bolts. The back of the iron has an outlet to plug in the electrical source. The back side of the iron has inscription that reads "American Beauty No. 6 1/2 B/Made by American Electrical Heater Co./Detroit USA/Patented May 1908, May 1914, Feb 1916". The actual cord (b) has two black ends - one plugs into the electrical outlet source and the other plugs into the iron. The cord is covered in black plastic coating over the wires. |
