Description |
An off white wedding dress made from sheer material. The neckline is rounded with a burgandy stitched floral design on the upper chest area. The dress is a straight cut and flows straight down. There is a shirred waist made from the same material as the dress but cut in a predominant horizontal band. It sits at the natural waist area. There are puckers on the band area that sinch in to accentuate the belt look. Above the band the chest area is loose with the sheer material. The sleeves are sheer and have a cuff at the end with two silver button clasps. The top of the sleeves have padding to accentuate the shoulders. The skirt of the dress flows straight down from the waist. The back of the dress has the same burgandy stitched floral design at the top of the back area. There are 20 buttons that flow straight down the back to the waist band area. The underskirt has a slip lining to cover the sheer fabric.There is a single zipper on the proper left side of the dress above the waist area.The dress was likely handmade since there are no maker's tag. |

The wedding dress belonged to and was worn by Jean Wagner (nee McCulloch) when she married Ken Wagner on July 27, 1948. Jean was from Bruce Township and Ken was from Arran Township. |
