Description |
A gold filled pin back attached to cardboard card. The pin is a saftey pin style with a gold oval base to attach brooch. The pin is woven through a cardboard card that has writing on the front. The card reads "Gold Filled Pin Backs - No. 72 - 41/35 - No.74 - 47/40 - No.76 - EI/50". |
Provenance |
Belonged to Robert B. Hillmer, was a jeweller in Southampton from about 1900 to the time of his death in 1958. A number of his small tools date from the beginning of the century. The set of engraving tools were used to engrave a great number of the coffin plates used for funerals for a half-century or so. |
