Description |
A gold pocket watch with chain. The watch is circular with a white ceramic face with roman numerals along the edge. There are red numbers from 5-60 above the roman numerals. There is a smaller clock at the bottom of the clock face with black numbers and tick marks from 10-60. The hands are small and narrow steel with a rain drop shape end with a skinny point. The watch cover is plastic (now yellow colour). The outer edge of the watch is gold with two raised edges to open the watch. The back of the watch opens to show engraved writing that reads " To John Herron by Saugeen Tp For Services in Great War 1914-18". The side door of the watch has small stamp of "Regina" and a maple leaf with the letter 'E' inside. There is a stamp that says "Gold Filled Ultra Quality" with a serial number below that reads "1397088". The back of the watch has initials engraved for the owner of the watch. It reads "JCH". The top of the watch has a vertical attachment with a dial at the top. There is an oval shaped loop where the chain attached. The chain is braided and has a skinny tube shaped bar at the end. |
