A black metal ruler in the shape of an arrow. It is black with gold text and numbers. The one end reads " COMPLIMENTS OF LACY & CO. LIMITED TORONTO" |
Provenance |
The ruler belonged to Robert B. Hillmer who was a jeweller in Southampton from about 1900 to the time of his death in 1958. A number of his small tools date from the beginning of the century. The set of engraving tools were used to engrave a great number of the coffin plates used for funerals for a half-century or so. |
