Description |
One wooden highchair. It is brown in colour and has a spindle back and slats on the sides. There are black metal supports on the front table tray. There is a decorative design carved at the back head rest area. The highchair has four legs that are supported by three spindle bars. There is a plain wood foot rest at the top front legs. Painted in orange on the underside of the tray is "First Highchair made by S.M. Knechtel Factory Southampton April 1902 For Helen J.E. Bach Granddaughter of W.M. MacGregor Lambert. Chantry Island". |

The highchair was made by S.M. Knechtel Chair Company in Southampton in 1902. The chair was made for Helen J.E. Bach, who was the granddaughter of William MacGregor Lambert. Lambert was the Lighthouse Keeper on Chantry Island from 1880-1907. |
