Description |
A signature quilt for the 160th Bruce Battalion. The quilt has a white background with light blue geometric pattern on the front. The light blue is diamond shaped with triangle shapes to create a cross in the centre. The blue is outlined in a white diamond border and has a white square in the centre. The names are embroidered in red and blue and are inside the diamond border. The back of the quilt is white. |
Provenance |
Though it is not known who made the quilt, it seems it was made in honour of those representing the D Company of the 160th Bruce Battalion. Of the 238 names, most are those of enlisted men from D Company (Kincardine, Tiverton, Lucknow areas), including those that were later medically discharged from the service. Also included in the names are officers and their wives. The quilt was originally owned by Walter Van Wyck, a member of D Company and whose name is on the quilt. |
