Description |
One Canada General Service Medal. Obverse of medal features Dominion of Canada flag, with CANADA at the top and a laurel of maple leaves around the sides. Reverse has bust of Queen Victoria. Medal is attached to ribbon bar by a stationary footed clasp. Ribbon bar is rectangular in shape and has "FENIAN RAID 1866". Stamped into edge of medal is "PTE. H. STANLEY 2ND KINCARDINE I. CO." |
Provenance |
This medal was awarded to Private H. Stanley of Kincardine for his service during the Fenian Raids of 1866. The Canada General Service medal was authorized in January of 1899, and was awarded to those who applied for it retroactively. |
