Description |
An eight pointed star medal with ribbon and three ribbon bars. The front is smaller than the back, which gives the appearance that the front is upraised, and is brass coloured. The centre of the star is an upraised circle with a man's head facing the proper right with foliage in the background. Around the centre is the text "Veterans Association 1866". The back is silver, with a hoop solder to the back that attaches to a ribbon bar. Engraved in the back in printing is "PRESENTED TO Lt. Col. A.E. Belcher BY ALEXANDER MUIR PRESIDENT AUTHOR OF The Maple Leaf TORONTO 1899" The ribbon the red, white and blue striped cotton and is frayed along the edges. The first ribbon bar is attached to the medal and has a zig-zag pattern along the bottom. The second ribbon bar is larger than the first, and has the same zig-zag decoration as the first on both the top and bottom. The third ribbon bar has a small wave pattern along the edges. |
