Description |
One RCAF winter tunic. The tunic is navy blue in colour and is made of cotton. The tunic is double breasted with four pockets, two at chest level and two at around waist level. The top two pockets have a buttoned flap with two smaller brass RCAF buttons with the St. Edwards crown, an eagle in flight, and "R.C.A.F. along the bottom, while the lower pockets have an unbuttoned flap. On the arms of the tunic are a black fabric shoulder patch with eagle in flight on them and below them are two chevrons that indicate the rank of a Corporal. The tunic is fastened by four large brass buttons with the St. Edwards Crown at the top, an eagle in flight in the centre, and "R.C.A.F. along the bottom. The tunic liner is light blue in colour and is a cotton material. On the proper right side along the tunic bottom is a small sewn on pocket that is the same colour as the lining. Stamped onto the inner lining of the pocket is black text that indicated the tunic measurements and who made the tunic but is unreadable. |

The tunic belonged to Ross McCurdy who was part of the Royal Canadian Air Force Northwest Command. He is the son of Corporal William Henry McCurdy from Chesley, Ontario. |
