Description |
A beige and orange coloured quilt with crosses in each block. The quilt has a total of 49 square blocks which have a orange/beige coloured cross in the centre. The cross has red stitching on the outer border. There are signatures in red thread diagonally in each corner of the cross. The quilt has a beige background with the same beige/orange coloured fabric along the outer edge. |
Provenance |
This quilt was made in 1917 by a group known as the War Effort Women, and comprised of those living on the 14th Line of Carrick Township. It was originally owned by Mrs. John A. Hogg, who also was one of the ladies who made the quilt. |
