Description |
A brown coloured wicker chair. It has a horseshoe shaped back with small side arms. The entire chair is a tight woven wicker with four wooden legs. There is a green diamond shape in the wicker design located in the centre of the back area and leg area. The chair has a beige coloured cushion that is tall. The fabric has a floral design of green, purple and yellow lilies on it. Attached to the back of the seat is an oval metallic disc with "WATSON FIBRE" on it. |
Provenance |
The chair was made at the Watson Fibre Furniture Company in Kincardine, Ontario. The building was located on Queen Street opposite of the Bruce Inn. Nothing is known of this company, and it is thought to be a branch of the Watson & Malcolm Furniture Co., also located on Queen St. in Kincardine. It has been noted that there was reed furniture manufacturing happening on the second floor of the the Queen St. building during the 1920s. |
