Description |
A gold coloured pin for the Canadian Legion. The pin has a main circular shape with a red and gold crown at the top. The main circle has a white enamel background with a red maple leaf. Below the maple leaf in gold writing reads "50". There is a circular banner around the white circle that reads "Memoriam Eorum Retinebimus". There is a semi-circle banner near the bottom that reads "Legion". The base of the pin has three red poppies. The back of the pin has a single screw backing with a circular disk closure. |

The pin belonged to Lincoln Edward Doll who was a member of the Royal Canadian Air Force in the Second World War. He served as a navigator in the Lancaster Bombers and achieved rank of Flying Officer and was awarded the Distinguished Flying Cross. In 1946, Lincoln returned to Southampton and re-opened his family's bakery. Later, he and his wife Margaret ran the Stedman's store for 30 years. |
