Description |
Second World War Battledress style uniform consisting of two parts: jacket and pants. Part A - Uniform Jacket - forest green wool jacket, short in length. Collared with beige cotton strip on inside. On top of each shoulder is a buttoned flap. On each upper arm is a flash that has a royal blue background with yellow letter that says "Royal Canadian Army Services Corps," under which is a separate flash that is a red diamond with a blue horizontal stripe through it. Encircling the proper right shoulder is a white braided rope (called an aguillette). Two large breast pockets with centre pleat and triangular flap. Base has attached belt with silver buckle at proper right. Back is pleated. Inside is lined with a khaki cotton lining. On the proper right, inner pocket this is stamped in black ink with a maker's mark but it has faded to the point that you cannot read it other than the date, "1944." Part B - pair of forest green wool pants. Pants have large side pockets, one on each upper thigh and a slit pocket on either side as well. There is a double green button at the cuff, with a buttoned strap opposite to these. |
