Description |
One band uniform consisting of jacket, pants and sam browne belt. Part A: Jacket is forest green and trimmed with red cotton and gold braid at the collar, cuffs and epaulets. Jacket has four button closure down the front. Buttons are silver coloured and feature a lyre image. Each side has two false pockets, one at the breast and the other at the bottom. Each false pocket features a flap and a button closure. Jacket has two inner front pockets. Back of jacket has an open pleat near the bottom, and on each side at the waist is a brass bracket for the belt. Jacket is lined with black cotton. Label on inside with "THE HOUSE OF HOBBERLIN, HAMILTON", "CUSTOM TAILORS SINCE 1885" and "Tailored in Canada's GOLDEN HORSESHOE". A second label inside an inner pocket has " NO. Henry's Clothing, Mr. L.E. Doll" and "Date: 5-14-63". Part B: Pants are forest green in colour and are trimmed down the side of each leg with gold braid. There is a pocket at the hip on each side, and slash pockets at the front. There is a small watch pocket on the right side of the waistband. Zipper closure with a hook and eye at the top. There are five belt loops. Part C: Belt is made of brown leather and fastens with a gold coloured metal buckle with two teeth at the front. A shoulder strap attaches to a loop on each side at the top. |

This uniform belonged to Lincoln Doll, who started playing the trombone in the Southampton Band at the age of twelve in 1928. This uniform dates to 1963. |
