Description |
A wooden and brass trophy. The trophy is tall with a main vertical wood piece mounted on a double rectangular base. The vertical piece of wood supports a decorative cup topper with a winged figure at the top. The figure has its arms held up and holding a laurel wreath. The main wood piece has a plate on the front reading "Reg Paddon Memorial Trophy Donated 1965 - Port Elgin Curling Club Draw Champions". On either side of the main plate are two gold coloured diamond shapes. There is a medallion near the base that has an image of a curling stone and brooms crossed at the handles. The top of the wood blocks has a pair of curling figures. The figures are gold coloured and appear to be men in a crouching position holding a curling stone and broom. The rectangular block of wood has 28 brass plates attached along the sides. Each plate has engraving with names and the year. The block is positioned on top of a wider rectangular block that has 9 blank brass plates adhered to the sides. The bottom of the trophy has a single bevelled edge. There is a maker's sticker at the bottom of the trophy reading "A&J Trophies and Engraving - Port Elgin.
