Description |
Ivory-coloured cotton nurse's apron composed of two parts: bib/top and skirt/bottom. Part a: The bib has a narrow gathered waist, a high round neck, wide shoulders and wide straps. The straps drape over the shoulders and cross at the back, where they would be pinned into the waistband of the skirt. Part b: The skirt is ankle-length with an A-line silhouette which gathers into a wide, flat waistband. It has pockets on either side. The back of the waistband has two button-holes on each side. This apron is part of a First World War Nursing Sister uniform. It is pictured over top of 2025.012.001a-e (uniform), with 2025.012.001f (belt) worn over the apron, around the waist. |
