Description |
One German military artillery slide rule. It is made of metal and has 6 small rulers that slide up and down to create specific measurements. The measurements and writing is in German. The sliders are listed as 1.Lad - 6.Lad with numbers written on the moveable sections and along the metal part that stays still. The slide rule folds in half so it could be stored in a pocket or safe place. The outside is a military green colour with an inscription on the front that says "L.F.H. 98/09". The inside of the slider is a gold coloured background with black lettering and numbers. On the right side there is writing listed on the side in German. |
Provenance |
The slide rule came home as a war souvenir by Daniel Roppel who was a member of the 44th Battery Canadian Field Artillery in the First World War. |
