Description |
One table. Table is solid elm and is stained a medium brown in colour. Table is square in shape with rounded corners. Sides of table are grooved. Each end of table lifts up, and a leaf can be pulled from each side. Legs are turned. On the underside of the table top is "PAT'D JANY 23 1890" in black lettering. |
Provenance |
This table is known as the Hauser Refectory table, which was patented by Christian Hauser of Elmwood in January of 1890. The patent refers to the way the leaves are pulled out from under the table top. This particular table was purchased at a sale in Elmwood. |
