Description |
A pair of silk baby shoes and box. Shoes are a pale pink with a darker pink piping around the edges. On the toe of each are two pink silk rosettes; one with leaves, the other without. Attached to the top of the heels are wide satin straps that fasten in the front with a small round button covered in pale pink silk. The box is rectangular and made from cardboard. Inside, the box is lined with tissue paper. On the side of the box is a white rectangular paper label with black font. Within a curcle with triangles along the outside is "BABY SHOES MADE IN JAPAN". Beside the circle is "No. Color". Stamped in purple in beside "No." is "4023" , and stamped beside "Color" is "SKY". The top of the box has a picture of a young boy putting shoes into a washbin which rests on a log. In purple font is says "BABY SHOES". |

The baby shoes were given to the donor's grandparents as a gift, but were never used as they only had one son and no daughters, circa 1930's-1940's. |
