Description |
One RCAF great coat that is navy blue in colour. The jacket is long in length and is double breasted. The coat is fastened with large round brass buttons. On the buttons is a eagle and above this is the St. Edwards and on the button bottom is "R.C.A.F." On each side of the coat, around hip level, are two large pockets, which are covered by a flap. On each shoulder is a black rectangular badge with a white eagle in flight on it. The coat rear bottom is separate into two panels. Inside the coat on each side is a large cotton blue pocket. On the coat inside on the proper right side is a small square material tag with jacket measurements but are difficult to read (see third image). Part of the text is "STERLING CLOTHING CO. LTD. 1942". |

The greatcoat belonged to Ross McCurdy who was part of the Royal Canadian Air Force Northwest Command. He is the son of Corporal William Henry McCurdy from Chesley, Ontario. |
