Provenance |
The exact date of this quilt is unknown but is believed to have been made between 1900 and 1915; possibly to raise money for local missionary Kate MacFarlane, whose parents were charter members of the Glammis Baptist church. Miss MacFarlane served the Missions in Africa during the 1910s and 1920s. This quilt was originally owned by Laura Cunningham who led the Mission Band, organized the creation of this quilt, and bought it upon its completion. |
