Description |
One silver plated trophy. Base is made of wood and is circular in shape. Tacked onto base are small shields with the yearly winners. Dates range from 1950 to 1965. The silver plated cup has a round base that tapers in to a ste, From the stem, the cup tapers out and then raises straight to the shoulders where it tapers out to the lip. Lip is rounded. From each side is a handle. Engraved on the cup is "W.M. SCHMID TROPHY BRUCE COUNTY JUNIOR FAMRERS PUBLIC SPEAKING FOR ANNUAL COMPETITION" A silver plated trophy, "WM/ SCHMID" trophy, mounted on a wooden pedestal and engraved with yearly shields from 1954-1962. Numerous inscriptions of winners for public speaking. |

This trophy was donated by W.M. Schmid, a jeweller from Lucknow, to be awarded to the winning contestant of the Junior Farmers/Junior Institute public speaking contest. The first winner of this cup was Irene Farrell of the Ripley Junior Institute in 1950. |
