Description |
A handmade side telephone table that was created by Alfred Bettridge. The table is a brown finish with an open rack section on the left front side that is divided into three sections. On the front right side there is a door and enclosed area with a flat top. The table is set on four small wheels. The front of the table where the open section is has a rectangular shaped solid wood design with two wooden rods on each side. This design is duplicated on the side and back. On the front of the rectangle piece is a light coloured oval shape that looks like the number 0. The door is rectangular in shape and has a brass coloured handle that is curved upwards at the bottom end. The handle is attached to an orange coloured bakelite ball which is secured to the door. There are two hinges on the right side. The design on the door is a rectangle border with a oval shaped mirror like decal. The top flat section of the table has a bevelled edge on all sides with four corner rounded edges that looks like a shell. There is a border that goes along the bottom edge of the main structure. The front design has a rectangle shape with a border around it and on either side are four oval shapes that are a lighter stain than the table. Underneath the border are four curved damask like shapes. The sides of the table have a similar design with a small square wood piece in the middle with three oval shapes in a lighter shade on either side. The back bottom border is more simplified with just the oval shapes in a lighter shade making the border. The table has a dark brown wood finish in a walnut or mahogany tone. |
