Description |
A Victory Medal. The Medal is round in shape and made from copper and lacquered bronze. On the obverse is winged Victory standing with her left arm outstretched, while the other hand is holding a palm branch. On the reverse is "THE GREAT WAR FOR CIVILISATION 1914-1919". Stamped around the outer edge is "3233459 Pte. N.A. Mink 2-C.M.R." At the top of the medal is a small loop through which the ribbon is strung. The ribbon is made of grosgrain and has nine stripes; red in the centre then on either side moving out is yellow, green, blue and violet. |

The Victory Medal was awarded to Norman Alfred Mink who was born in Chesley, Ontario. Mink served with the 3rd Reserve Battalion, 2nd Battalion, 1st Central Ontario Regiment, and the 2nd Battalion, Canadian Mounted Rifles during the First World War. |
