Description |
One green and brown earthenware jug. The bottom is round and flat, with the body tapering wide at the centre, before tapering back in at the shoulders. The neck of the jug flares out. The rim has a small spout. The handle is D-shaped and is attached to the centre of the body at the top of the neck. At the top of the handle is a small upraised section. Body is decorated with two incised lines around the circumference of the body at the centre. |
Provenance |
The jug was made by Cyrus Eby, who came to Bruce County in 1880, and settled in the Chippewa Hill area of Amabel Township. According to Census data Cyrus Eby is listed as a farmer and potter in 1881, but is only listed as a farmer in 1891. |
