One smoke coloured pliers. They have a flat curved top with two pointed ends. Below the head is a curved handle. Inscribed with FRANCE on side of handle and '1' on the bottom inside handle. |
Provenance |
The pliers belonged to Robert B. Hillmer who Belonged to Robert B. Hillmer, was a jeweller in Southampton from about 1900 to the time of his death in 1958. A number of his small tools date from the beginning of the century. The set of engraving tools were used to engrave a great number of the coffin plates used for funerals for a half-century or so. |
