Description |
One Shriner's fez. Fez is made of red felt and is round in At front is metallic thread is "MOCHA" with a scimitar and upside down moon and a star. In the centre of the moon is a small gold coluored piece with a face resembling an Egyptian pharoah. Attached to the top is a long black cord tassel which falls to the proper left. Attached to the fez and securing the tassel is a large pin with faux jewels. Top of fez has small vent holes. |
Provenance |
This fez belonged to F. Roy Weatherton, who was a charter member of the Bruce Shriner Club in 1974. This fez predates this time to when he first became a Shriner in Sault Ste. Marie in 1959. This style of fez was worn until the mid-1960s. |
