One silver coloured pocket watch. The watch is inside and has a lid over top. The watch has a white face with black roman numerals with small red numbers above it. There is "Reliance" in cursive writing at the top centre. The watch has one arm. The case has a top lid with a blue label on the top. The label reads "16 SIZE OPEN FACE No. 9481664, 7 JEWELS". |
Provenance |
The watch belonged to Robert B. Hillmer who was a jeweller in Southampton from about 1900 to the time of his death in 1958. A number of his small tools date from the beginning of the century. The set of engraving tools were used to engrave a great number of the coffin plates used for funerals for a half-century or so. |
