Description |
Black, cast iron seal press with flower imagery. There are three main components, the body, the handle, and the stamping surfaces. The base of the body is beveled with the groove painted gold. There is a bolt hole in the front and back of the base. The body of the press is thin and has red flowers with gold levels and stems painted on it. The area of the body surrounding the handle has gold edges that continue down the back. The sides have gold details painted on them. The body that surrounds the stamping surfaces also have gold edges. The ends of the bolt that secures the handle to the body are painted red. The handle is also painted cast iron and has a wavy shape. The area that is used to press down on is silver in colour. The top stamping surface is bronze in colour and has the deboss of the seal image. The bottom stamping surface is black in colour and has the seal image embossed. The seal image is circular in shape. It has a round border of fleur-de-lis. "COUNTY L.O.L." follows the shape of the top border. Along the bottom edge is "NORTH BRUCE.". There are decorative details between the two texts on both sides. There is a rope interior border. At the center is an image of a rider on a horse with a sword extended. The horse and rider are facing towards the proper left of the seal. Below the horse in a box is "1690". The bottom of the body is inset and has a deeper circular inset near the front that has metal filling part of it. |
