Description |
One commemorative trowel that has a triangular shaped blade and bone handle. The blade is silver plated and finely engraved with maple leaves. The blade is jointed to the handle with stem and maple leaf design. The point of the blade has text engraved which reads "PRESENTED TO MRS. A TOLMIE BY THE PRESBYTERIAN CONGREGATION SOUTHAMPTON AUG. 8TH, 1911". The back of blade is stamped showing a flag in a circle with the letter 'D' and text that reads "STANDARD SILVER CO LTD. Toronto". |

The commemorative trowel was presented to Mrs. Andrew Tolmie by the Congregation of the St. Andrew's Presbyterian Church at the laying of the corner stone on August 8, 1911. Reverend Andrew Tolmie moved to Southampton in 1863 as the Presbyterian Minister. |
