Description |
Tin wind-up toy or mechanical figure. Figure is a clown in a two-wheeled carriage being led by a donkey. Donkey is grey in colour and has floppy movable ears and legs. Painted in black are the donkey's facial features and bridle. Donkey's tail is off-white woven cord.Going through the donkey's middle is a black bar, that it moves up and down on. This bar attaches, on each side with a black metal bracket that is attached to the carriage. Carriage is open air , with a seat in the middle, and a large wheel on each side. Seat is grey in colour with a black backboard. Each wheel is decorated with two clowns in yellow, pink and blue outfits, on a light blue background. In small lettering near the hub of each wheel is "LEHMANN GERMANY" in black lettering. Clown in driver's seat is wearing yellow pants and a large red shirt. Shirt is fabric and has four black dots down the centre. Black pointed collar of shirt is tin. Clown is missing proper left arm. Right arm is tin and flesh coloured. Face of clown is white in colour and is decorated with red triangles on his cheeks. Nose is upturned, and eyes are blue. Hair is reddish-brown and covered with a small black top hat. On the back of the carriage is a square plate with a clown in the centres. On the clowns collar is "MARKE" in black lettering. Along the side is "PATd U.S.A 12 MAI 03". Along the other side is "PATd U.S.A 22 JAN 07". Along the bottom is "MADE IN GERMANY 425". On the underside of the carriage is a brass winding knob and a small wheel. The winding mechanism consists of cogs and is under the driver's seat. |
