Description |
Black, cast iron seal press. There are three main components, the body, the handle, and the stamping surfaces. These two components are joined with a metal post. The detailing is gold in colour and is in the groove that goes completely around the base. The edge surrounding where the handle is joined also has gold colouring, as does the area surrounding the ends of the metal posts. Stamped on the base on the proper right at the bottom is "MADE IN CANADA". The handle is also cast iron and has a wavy shape. The top stamping surface is bronze in colour and has the deboss of the seal image. The bottom stamping surface is silver in colour and has the seal image embossed. The seal image is circular in shape. There is a rope border around the outside edge. "The JEWEL R.B.P. NO.1058" follows the shape of the border. Along the bottom edge is "CHESLEY, ONT.". There is an iron cross between the two texts. There is a dotted interior border. At the center is a double border triangle with three dots on each side and one at each point between the two triangles. In the middle of the triangles is a skull and cross bones. A "M" is in both of the bottom corners of the inner triangle. The body is hollow and has two crevices. The front crevice has metal poured in it. |

The Royal Black Preceptory is a group within the Loyal Orange Lodge structure. For an individual to be able to be part of this group they must first reach the Royal Arch Purple Degree in the L.O.L for at least three months. "Jewel" is the name of the Chesley Preceptory. |
