Description |
A circular shaped wool badge. The background is a vibrant gold colour with a green ring stitched on the top. The green ring has white writing embroidered in a circular motion that reads "Kincardine Girls Softball Club". The inside of the badge has a gold circle with white embroidery that reads "Group Champs". The centre shows a pair of baseball bats crossed over each other to create an 'X'. Below the bats there is a ball. On the left side there is "19" and the right reads "48". The back of the badge is solid gold colour and shows green stitching and white stitching from the front side. |

The baseball badge belonged to Mavis Mason who played with the Kincardine Legionettes in the 1940's. Mavis was born in Wingham, Ontario in 1925 to parents Horace Newell and Elizabeth Windibink. She married Harold Mason ca. 1944 and later moved to Kincardine, Ontario. Mavis Mason died in 1978. |
