Description |
One eel trap. Trap consists of two woven baskets made from small branches. Up the centre is a larger stick. Trap is cylindrical in shape and comes to a cone at the top. Within the outer basket is a small basket that is cone shaped. There are two small openings near the top which are patched with chicken wire. There is a small wooden cylindrical plug attached to the top by a rope. |

This trap was used by Latvian eel fishermen in the Saugeen River, where they also processed and sold them ca. 1957. |
