Description |
A tall vertical shaped linen sampler. The sampler has a linen backing with various coloured thread. The design has the alphabet and numbers throughout the top section that are separated in horizontal bands with decorative chevron patterns. The bottom section of the frame reads in red and gold thread "Bridget Doyle's Sampler/finished in the _th year of her age March...1885(?)". The sampler is supported on a cotton backing and framed. The frame is a double bevelled frame with gold fillet. It has glass and a wire harness at the back. |

The sampler was found in Artifact Storage unnumbered and could not be matched to any records. The sampler was made by Bridget Doyle ca. 1880's. |
