Description |
One iron scuffler. The front has a hook and blade below. The base then stretches outward to a 'U' shape with five iron plates below. The scuffler has two main handles with support bars in between. |
Provenance |
The scuffler was used on the farm Nathaniel Leeder Sr. The farm was located in Goble's Grove, outside of Port Elgin. The scuffler was made by the foundry located in Port Elgin. Around 1880 the foundry was known as Heller, Scott & Co. and by 1884 was known as Andrew, Heller & Nisbet and was run by Alexander Andrew, Adam Heller and John Nisbet. |
