Description |
Model of Krug washstand. Model is made of medium finished wood. Base of washstand is square in shape and consists of two rectangular shaped doors. On each door is an upraised rectangular section of wood that is lighter in colour. There is one knob to open both doors and it is round white plastic. The table-top surface is made of red marbled slate. At the back is a tall back board with elaborately cut spades and geometric shapes. In the centre of the back board is a mirror. In front of the mirror, about half way up, and traversing the washstand in length is a shelf with rounded corners. The shelf tapers in width in the centre. On the back is a white paper sticker with "HBK 85" in blue ink. . Beside the sticker is an original paper tag covered with cellophane and tape. The paper tag has "Patented September 8, 1874" in black font. Also on the back are two large pieces of aluminium tape holding the mirror in place. Inside the front cupboard is a white sticker with "70828" Table top is no longer adhered to washstand so is given the letter B. |
