Description |
Flagon is silver/silver plated and has a wide base. Base has three ridges and narrows and curves upward. On bottom of flagon is "80 6". Flagon body is cylindrical in shape and narrows towards top. Top of flagon has a thick lip. Spout is tall and juts out 5.5cm from flagon body and has an opening roughly triangular in shape and rounded. Handle is same height as flagon body and is curvy. On handle top is where the lid was originally mounted to, broken now. .001b is flagon lid. Lid is silver/plated silver and has a round flat bottom and gradually narrows. One side of lid has part of the hinge that connected to flagon and has an ornate top piece. Hinge part appears to have previously broken off and was repaired. |

The flagon originally belonged to the Centre Bruce United Church. Flagon was purchased at a church auction by Mae Esplen, who then sold it to Mildred Lee, who passed it down to the donor. |
